Community Involvement

Over the years I have participated in many public forums dealing with the Official Community Plan, and as a result of encouragement from supporters I ran for Mayor of Vernon in 2008. Even though I was prepared to leave the Real Estate business if  my campaign was successful, I believe that there was substanial resistance from the voters to a Realtor being Mayor. It was a great experience but I doubt I would do it again. I will continue to be active in voicing my concerns regarding development and in particular making sure that development fits smart growth principles as much as possible.

Personal Interests

I am active in the Enderby, Armstrong, and Vernon areas and persue many recreational activities. I am especially involved in golf and boating in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. I also participate in canoeing kayaking, river floating, curling, skiing. I am always working on a home improvement project and I enjoy hobbies such as Lapidary, silver-smithing, and candle making.

Specialties

I have a background in Surveying and I have found that this helps me substantially with people wanting to know about rezoning and subdivison ideas. I have helped clients go through the rezoning process several times now - so if you have any questions about real estate development give me a call.

Prior to my Real Estate career I had been active in other sales related occupations since 1986, but before that I spent several years as a Surveyor. It is this Surveying background that really sets me apart from most of the other Realtors.

I've used this knowledge and expertise as a Surveyor to help several clients with the rezoning and development of their property. If you have property with development potential you should call on me to discuss the possibilities.

This Surveying background also helps me with the day to day purchase and sale of Real Estate because I have a better understanding than most Realtors of the boundaries that define a property. So even if you don't require any special knowledge of developing land, my background could prove helpful in your Real estate purchase or sale.

On a personal level I have been the contractor involved in building two of my own houses.

Professional Background

I have been a Realtor Since October 2004. Prior to that I spent 3 years in automotive sales, 14 years as a financial planner and many years as a Surveyor.

All of my pre-realtor careers help me in my daily activities in the Real Estate Business. The main experience that sets me aside from the average realtor is my Surveying experience - which I call on regularly to help people that are contemplating development or rezoning their property

Professional Interests

I am always thrilled to get involved with the development and rezoning of properties.

I have a fairly good understanding of the concept of Sustainable developments (Green Building) (LEEDS Standards) and I would like to become involved with a developer that wants to develop a Sustainable neighborhood project. I may even have access to a sizable parcel of Land if the right developer came along.

Education

I have a diploma of Surveying Tecnology from the BC Institute of Technology
