6 Chemical-free cleansers you didn’t know you had

Looking for a natural way to clean your home? Tired of breathing in harsh chemicals? Dig through your pantry for these simple cleaning solutions and leave the toxic stuff behind!

Vanilla Extract

Mix 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a microwave-safe container and nuke it on high for 5 minutes. When it’s done, remove the container and wipe down the interior of the microwave. Any gunk should slide right off leaving your microwave clean and smelling sweet.

Coffee Filters

To get your TVs, computer screens and mirrors dust-fee, wipe them all down with coffee filters.

Eggshells

For vases and long-necked bottles, drop a handful of crushed eggshells into the bottle and add warm water with a dash of dishwashing soap. Swirl it around and voila! The shells will scrape off any hard-to-reach spots.

Bread

Not only is it recommended for your daily nutrition, bread also does wonders for dusting off paintings that can be ruined by traditional cleaners. Because it is naturally sticky, it also is good for picking up small pieces of broken glass.

Cornstarch

It’s essential in gravies, stews and… carpet stains! Mix together some cornstarch and water to make a pasty substance. Put a little on the stain and watch as its absorbing power soaks up the stain.

Baking Soda

Baking soda becomes a natural cleaner when mixed with water that is great for cleaning everything. Stainless steel, scuffs on walls…sprinkle baking soda onto a damp cloth or sponge and wipe the sink clean.
