The end of summer 2012 might be upon us, but that doesn't mean that we can't celebrate with one last really, REALLY big BBQ, right? Right! Don't miss out on the chance to taste some of the best eats this country (and beyond!) has to offer at Canada's Largest Ribfest -- taking place this August long weekend at Spencer Smith Park, Burlington.
Organized by The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore, the 17th annual Ribfest will bring together 18 of the most renowned "Ribber" Teams from all across North America in an intense competition to be crowned with the Best Ribs in the land!
With more than 100,000 gatherers on hand to test out their tastebuds, Ribfest is not only one of the
largest community events in the area (and the largest festival of its kind in Canada!), but is also a huge fundraising initiative for The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore, raising millions of dollars each year for local, national, and international charities.
A variety of musical guests, as well as activities for guests of all ages, will also be on-going throughout the entire weekend, to keep you thoroughly entertained between every single mouthwatering munch!
Ribber Teams for 2012 include local spots such as Tennessee Fat Back in Oakville, close neighbours like last year's top prize holder Kentucky Smokehouse in London, as well as long distance travellers like Sticky Fingers from Rhode Island, Gators BBQ from Florida, and Uncle Sam's BBQ from New Mexico.
Simply put, Canada's Largest Ribfest is "a good cause, good food, good times and the perfect way to bid farewell to summer." You won't want to miss it!
Canada's Largest Ribfest runs from 11am to 11pm Friday August 31st to Sunday September 2nd, and from 11am to 8pm on Monday September 3rd. For more details visit http://www.canadaslargestribfest.com/
