The GTA has been hit hard this winter and the weather is now fluctuating between warm and cold, which makes it difficult to predict the effects of the melting snow. Rising temperatures and melting snow may lead to flooding and leaks for homeowners this spring. When the temperature rises, and snow turns to rain, the snow on the ground, around, and on top of the house melts faster. In order to prevent leaks and floods within your home, follow these tips:
· Make sure to check under the corners below your windows.
· Clear eavestroughs of leaves and make sure they are in proper working condition.
· Ensure that the plumbing is working correctly throughout the house.
· Seal cracks in the walls, floors, and/or windows.
