Premier Kathleen Wynne sets out the battle plan for Ontario

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne steadied her troops Saturday for the challenges to come, telling party members that a majority government is an opportunity to take bold action.

The pending sale of a stake in Hydro One, the implementation of a cap-and-trade system and Ontario pension plan, on top of an impasse with teacher unions, has attracted considerable opposition including from some previously loyal party supporters.

“I know these people,” Wynne said of fellow Liberals at the party’s annual general meeting in Collingwood, shortly before the one-year anniversary of their last election win. “I’m not surprised that there are people who are concerned, but I also have a huge amount of faith in their belief in what we are doing and their belief in the direction we’re going.”
