WINNIPEG, MB-Manitoba REALTOR® Reg Black has been appointed as the new Regional Director for Manitoba with the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
CREA represents more than 97 000 real estate Brokers/agents and salespeople across Canada. As Regional Director for Manitoba, Black will reflect the thoughts and issues of Manitoba REALTORS® to the board so that they are considered in conjunction with all regions across Canada when industry decisions are being made.
"In Manitoba we have been very fortunate to have very strong representatives in the past to the national board," says Black.
"Their work has created a well respected voice at that table. I look forward to maintaining this and am honored to be representing the REALTORS® of our province and country on our national board."
Black is also in charge of presenting CREA information and updates at special meetings in Manitoba.
"Reg's decision to take this new responsibility on was made after careful and thoughtful consideration, and those of us who have had the privilege of working with Reg know that he has a lot to contribute," says Ruthe Penner, president of the Manitoba Real Estate Association.
"He will represent Manitoba's specific and unique needs with an experienced, unbiased perspective."
Black has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1995. He has been a part of the Member Services Committee of the WinnipegREALTORS® Association, Director of the Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA) for 3 years, on the MREA Executive for 4 years and served as MREA president in 2007.
Reg Black is currently the broker of Century 21 Sun Country Realty, which he co-owns with his wife Myrna.
