The Springfield Food Bank is looking for donations to help round out 2014. Anything extra that you can donate is greatly appreciated, every little bit helps a family in need. They are looking for food or cash donations as well as toys or new clothing.
They are particularly short on canned salmon, peanut butter, cereal, sugar, canned fruit and flour. Consider seniors and infants when packing up a donation, formula and baby food would be a wonderful Christmas gift for a mother to receive.Go through your cupboards and think about what you are willing to part with. Don’t just reach for the pasta sauce and can of soup, consider including a few ‘treats’ that will really brighten their day.
A huge thank you to The Kinettes, who are putting the hampers together between December 16 and 18, with deliveries planned for Dec. 20. You can drop of your cash and canned goods at the Oak Back United Church (582 Balsam) between 9am and 4pm those days. You can call 204-444-2014 to arrange your items to be picked.
If you are in need of help this holiday season or you know someone who is, please call 204-444-2014 to inquire about receiving a hamper.
