Personal Background

Victoria is a small world. Everyone knows everyone once you start talking. This is why a good reputation is so very ­important. ­Having lived in Victoria my entire life I KNOW this city and it's many different areas. This knowledge of  Greater Victoria ­is valuable information to buyers and especially out of town clients.­ Each area is unique and has it's own character which defines the value and style of what buyers are seeking.  Fairfield is close to the ocean and has a blend of character homes with converted condos surrounding Beacon Hill Park, Gordon Head is near the University, Rockland is full of old mansions. ­I can save buyer's valuable time and focus on exactly what their wants and needs are in finding their perfect home in a perfect location.

I am a lover of old heritage homes so it learned to repair stained glass windows which led me to teach the art of working with stained glass. I have renovated many older homes, bringing them back to their former glory. I love gardening and growing organic fruits and vegetables. I feel it is vital to know exactly where our food comes from and get the best nutrition possible. I love hiking and exploring the islands many lakes,mountains and trails with our dogs. We are a Chow Chow rescue family and  currently have 2 dogs rescued  from Texas.

 

Personal Interests

Finding Renters a pet friendly home is the most rewarding home. Renters with pets are continually at risk of finding pet friendly rental homes.Having to give up a family pet to find housing is a terrible thing. Finding out if you can buy a home is FREE. It's just asking the right people the right questions.I  can help you find out if you can become a buyer. A home with a safe fenced yard, room to run and a walk-able neighborhood is my favorite home to search for. I love walking my dogs. I know where the hidden parks and trails are, ­lakes and mountain hikes, safe fenced dog parks and open off leash zones. Victoria is a very pet friendly place which means we have good people living here. I love helping renters fulfill their dream of finding  their forever homes for themselves and their furry babies. Shopping for Fido is equally important as getting a great kitchen or a big garage. I am a proud supporter of the SPCA, Rescue Me and the North West Chow Chow ­Rescue, having adopted 9 Chow Chows so far and for me I truly feel ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­ ­

Professional Interests

 I am continually educating myself on real estate investing, knowing more about land development deals, syndicated mortgages,options to lease/buy from the seller. Where can you get the best Rate of Return on your investments, how to secure lender financing and how to get good tenants are just a few areas of importance when looking to become a landlord and making a profit. I am a member of Keyspire and attend summits, webinars and monthly coaching sessions to keep as current as possible on any changes in the market of real estate and investing. Since this is my professional interests page I should include I also have a degree of Dr. of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. As well as being a professional painter I keep busy helping people whether it be physical health or making your surroundings better.

       I became a Dr. of Traditional Chinese Medicine after receiving acupuncture for a back injury. I truly feel that helping others is my personal purpose. The entire realm of (TCM) is based on balance and keeping energy moving, building our Qi, our life force. With that training I have learned how vital nutrition and eating a clean diet can affect our well being. So I encourage buyers to have a yard and grow food. I love giving an apple tree as a house warming gift. Even if you don't garden a fruit tree offers a free reward.

My Special Talents

When I was 11 years old I saw my first McClure home and I knew then I wanted to renovate heritage homes. I have lived that dream. As a home renovator I restore the character and beauty of old houses. I have been a professional painter for over 30 years which led me to become a realtor. I was painting homes to sell or painting homes that buyers were fixing up so naturally I wanted to help my clients with the entire process. I have many contractors I work with and refer with confidence so if your home is not showing at it's best for selling, I can get you the people to make it shine. As well I can help get ­your fixer upper into top shape. I assist my buyers with color choices and somehow ­I always get involved in the painting process. ­My gift to my clients. I love making homes look great. Making your dreams come true is a dream come true for me as well.­­

I'm a hard core gardener and nutitrionist. I know the value in growing your food,  nutritionally, financially and physically. It's good exercise and organic is just so much safer. I moved from my last home- which I loved- simply because the huge oak trees caused so much shade that it was impossible to grow food. That was my most important criteria along with a great pet friendly property. A lesson I pass onto my clients who are buying in the winter.  Once those trees fill in with leaves it changes the use of the yard and how much light shines into the home. The outside of the homes is just as important as the inside.

I consider all the personal factors in my buyer's lifestyle when finding their perfect home. We all have different criteria and I listen closely to my clients.
