A new twist on the "Man-cave"

For many years, the conversion of the garage into a "Man-Cave" was popular in many Canadian neighborhoods. At first, it was the beefed up tool and workbench area for the DIYer to work on the car or other projects for around the house. Ensuring the right tools were in the garage for every job, guys couldn't go to the hardware store without bringing home the latest and greatest innovative tool their buddy didn't have.

Then came the addition of the TV and all the accompanying necessities, like a state of the art sound system. After all, if you were going to be spending all weekend out in the garage, you might as well not miss the "Big Game". And of course, you needed a place for you and your buddies to sit and watch along, with a fridge for your favorite beverages. To accommodate all of that, you may have to move the tools into the back shed, but one had to do what one had to do.

Today, the new trend is to convert the old "Man-Cave" into a contemporary indoor/outdoor living area to increase the size of the living space off the house.
