New Home Construction Rebate

The government has brought out another rebate to stimulate the economy – more good news for us! The Nova Scotia Government is now offering a rebate, of up to $7,000, on new homes. The government will pay 50%, to a maximum of $7,000, of the HST on homes built by the owner on their land as well as new homes bought from builders for the first 1,500 people that claim it.

How does the Rebate Work?

To qualify for the rebate the municipal building permit must be issued after January 1st, 2009 but before April 1st 2010, and construction must be completed or the sale closed before March 31st 2010. The house must also become the primary residence of the claimant or a relation of the claimant. The rebate is also dependant on the preliminary application being accepted.

 

The rebate is only available to the first 1500 people that apply so don’t wait find out more about it today!
