Sturgeon Point Real Estate Listings and Information
The Village of Sturgeon Point is situated on Sturgeon Lake with a glorious southern exposure. Since it's beginnings in the early 1800's, Sturgeon Point has been a fashionable summer and cottage destination. With it's combination of community, recreation, historical buildings, spectacular luxury year-round homes and summer cottages, it has become one of the most sought-after vacation property locations in the Kawarthas. Found in east Fenelon Township, Sturgeon Point is also renowned for being the home of The Sturgeon Point Golf Club. Established in 1899, it is not only one of the oldest in Ontario, but also one of the best. The Lake Sturgeon Sailing Club has been home to the village's annual Regatta and in 2010 was named Regatta of the Year by the Canadian Yachting Association. Finally, no description of Sturgeon Point would be complete without mention of the Sturgeon Point Union Church, also commonly referred to as the Round Church. The current church was built in 1915 through a generous donation by Lady Flavelle. The church is unique not only for it's shape but for the fact that it is non-denominational. Services are every Sunday during July and August beginning at 10:30am. The sermon is given by ministers from different denominations each Sunday.
