Professional Experience

Previously known as Terri Ann Lavertu (maiden name), Kelowna has been my  home for the last 20 years. Once one has experienced the Okanagan lifestyle, it captures your heart which then truly makes it impossible to leave. The amenities Kelowna has to offer is unprecedented....just ask the locals!

The Okanagan Lake is an incredible pleasure lake and has an endless amount of beaches to lay or play on and there is an abundance of activities to take part of anywhere around the lake. Whether you are driving or living by the lake, it can never get boring to look at - the views here are spectacular!

The golfing, the wineries, the restaurants, shops, skiing, entertainment and endless opportunity (for work or play) will keep families happy, healthy and busy all year long. Once you have lived here, you will agree that Kelowna is Canada's little paradise! 

MY STORY

Coming from a small town in Logan Lake, to the city of Kamloops ..... to finally finding my way home in Kelowna, I've never wanted to be anywhere else.

Starting out at a young single mother doing whatever I needed to do to survive in this beautiful city, I went from a gas station cashier, to assistant manager, to managing the station which was one of the funnest jobs (except pumping propane and washing windows!). Despite early mornings, long days and smelling like gas, this job allowed me to meet the every day people of Kelowna and all wonderful tourists. I, at one point, thought that I'd take my real estate course, but couldn't take the risk as I didn't have a dime in my pocket and probably would have starved myself and my little boy….so putting ourselves first of course, delaying my desire, I put myself through college and became a legal assistant. I initially thought I wanted to specialize in other fields of law, however apparently the universe knew my desire and led me to become a conveyancer working in real estate departments for law firms. Over the years I  worked with incredible lawyers and conveyancers that taught me necessary legalities of real estate that one can only obtain working in that specific industry. For 10 years I worked with the best of the best and then decided after marriage and 2 more children, still not a dime in my pocket, that it was time to make my desires become my reality! With the support of friends and family, I was able to get through that first tough year and thus my real estate career has truly begun…..As I'm writing this it has now been 3 years, approximately 50 transactions over 2 years, over 12 million dollars in real estate sold/purchased and a long list of happy clients who have become incredibly important people in my life!

I apply all the principles essential to maintain these standards, which include, loyalty, competent service, honesty, obeying all lawful instructions, confidentiality, exercise reasonable care and skill, account for all money property, duty of disclosure and my further legal and ethical duty to explain real estate terms and practices.

Many folks have relationships with realtors from referrals or previous transactions, however if you are not currently working with another realtor, then this may help you make a decision on who to work with..

1.  First and foremost, I am one who truly cares about my clients well being. My number one priority is YOU! I can't imagine a realtor not being honest with their client which can lead to the hard conversations, anger or conflict about price, goals, budgets etc, but those hard conversations can lead to ensuring you are going down the right path when it comes to investment. Its important that you read a realtor's brochure so you know exactly what your realtor is supposed to do for you!! Email, call or text me and I'm happy to explain to you what every buyer or seller should know!!


2. Experience: In all honesty, when one is a new realtor, they truly don't have the knowledge that is really needed to help a client the way every client should be helped, however, any realtor will tell you, that they stumbled through their first year and made it out ok. I can finally say after 3 years of being on this side of the fence (instead of in a law firm), I have the experience necessary to help you buy or sell your home! Experience is CRITICAL in any transaction and having the resources necessary to ensure that it can be a smooth transaction is pertinent. If you were to ask my clients about my knowledge, resources and due diligence that I provide, I'm confident that they would agree that I'm a leader within the industry. 

I have handled millions of dollars worth of real estate conveyancing transactions over these last 10 years and each transaction has been handled with confidence and care with the utmost amount of respect for my clients. Whether it has been a $50,000.00 property or a $10,000,000.00 property, the integrity, skills, completion of research and due dilgence, confidence, client confidentiality and professionalism I use daily, IS CONSISTENT. 


3. Its not a pay check: I've heard the horror stories (seen them first hand being a conveyancer) and know that many realtors just need that pay check and will sell anything to anyone to make that happen. I've been in that predicament and chose to not to be that type of realtor. I am not a pushy ex-car salesman, I am not an egotistical over-confidnent know-it-all….. I am simply a wise, confident, prepared businesswoman, who's strength and knowledge will lead you down the right path in order to help you find the perfect place for you and your family. At the end of the day, THAT is what is important to making my business successful! 

I believe in order to have that amazing experience, you need to be able to work with people you can depend on everyday, who have the confidence and experience to guide you through the process. People who will lead you to your ultimate goal with the skills and perserverence that is required. but with a kind and warm heart that is needed.
