Professional Background

Since a kid I've been around New Construction, Renovation and Sales. I am a second generation Sales Person and son of a Developer in the Atlantic Region. I have followed in my Father's footsteps. Since 2000 I've worked full time in Real Estate Sales. The first 4 years I sold mostly New Homes.  I have experience in Project Management in New Home Construction and assisted in Developing the initial 4 phases of an eventual 7 phase Residential Community.  Condominium Conversion of Rental Apartments is another area of involvement. Since 2004 I've sold primarily Resale Housing and Investment Property.

I have specialized training in Business Marketing and Management. Prior to making the move to Full-Time sales I had worked in Counselling and Ministry. 16 years I focused on lead roles developing faith communities (two congregatonal startups) in 2 locations in HRM and 1 in Chicago, Illinois. I've also initiated and led Substance Abuse Counselling programs and Counselling with Survivor's of Abuse (Master's Thesis).

Professional Interests

I avidly follow the market trends in the local market as well as some international markets. Business Coaching has also been a keen interest of mine both as a Client and since 2010 as a Business Coach with Rob Vivian Coaching.

Community Involvement

Much of my "spare time" is spent outside of work is with family and friends. My involvement in the community mostly revolves around the areas of the kid's interest. Running the boys to hockey games, youth group, music lessons and chasing our dog when she runs to the playground.

EDUCATION

I participated in formal education in Nova Scotia as well in Illinois. In the provincial Capital, Halifax, I received a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm., Marketing) for studies at St. Mary's.  In picturesque Wolfville, in the Annapolis Valley, I received a Master of Theology (M.Th.) from Acadia.  Work in Chicago Ill., was to experience the diversity of our world at the cultural crossroads of America's "second city". There were over 25 nationalities, for example, represented at our local high school. It was a rewarding journey particularly to form a deeper understanding of Black and White America at a crossroads.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

I am a long time resident of Halifax. Favorite hobbies include gardening, hockey (road hockey and pond hockey specialist), travel and involvement in our kid's many activities.
