Get rid of smells. 
This certainly does not mean simmering potpourri on the stove or baking banana bread before showings, it means actually getting rid of odours!
If you’re a smoker, the smell will be in the carpets, drapes & walls. Have your carpets steam cleaned, your drapes dry cleaned and your walls painted. Smoke outside while your home is on the market. Period.
Here's a quick tip to help remove the smoke odours from your home! 
Pour 1 to 2 tbsp. of ammonia onto a cloth and wash all window blinds, light covers, walls and windows in the home. Reapply additional ammonia to the cloth as needed.
