Saturdays in the Street
If you haven't been downtown for this cool festival, it's time to make it part of your weekend routine! Saturdays in the Street brings free music to Downtown Burlington all summer long! Visit Elgin St., just off Brant for live local music from 3:00pm – 5:30pm. Here's the line up for the entire month of August:
August 2nd – Chelsea Crites
August 9th – Adam Cooke
August 16th – The Tallest Tree
August 23rd – Danielle Beaudin
August 30th – Kirby
Also, each Saturday concert will kick off with “New Sounds of the 905” featuring local youth, ages 13- 19 . They will open for the headlining act with a 20 minute performance. The audience is invited to “tweet” a vote for their favourite youth performer. The winner will be back on stage to wrap up the Saturdays Series on August 30th.
Enjoy the complimentary on-street seating or take in the action from one of the three adjacent patios (Queen’s Head Pub, sb prime or Coffee Culture).
What is Summertime without Music? And what could be better than hanging out downtown, grabbing a drink and enjoying some fantastic music with friends? Don't forget to take your smartphone so that you can use twitter to vote for your favourite youth performer in the "New Sounds of the 905" contest.
