From grassroots beginnings, thousands of people now flock to Oakville to enjoy live outdoor jazz performances from the finest musical talent. A highly successful event, attracting thousands of residents and tourists, the Oakville Jazz Festival plays host to local, regional, national, and international jazz acts. Celebrating their 20th Anniversary of great jazz, incredible shopping and fantastic summer dining, it's sure to be a wonderful way to spend the weekend. This years' festival headliners include; Allen Toussaint, John Hammond, Peter Appleyard, Joey DeFrancesco, Tierney Sutton, Magic Slim & The Teardrops.
The Oakville Jazz Festival takes place on 6 outdoor stages located in Downtown Oakville. It is a perfect venue for a festival of this calibre; with outdoor patios, shopping, great restaurants, local pubs and street vendors. At night the trees are lit with funky lighting giving the place an almost magical feel. The area is home to several heritage buildings and it is a very quick walk to the waterfront.
Open air stages are located along the Lakeshore throughout the downtown core; including large stages located at both Centennial Square and Town Square on Lakeshore. As well as 4 stages at the intersections of Lakeshore and Thomas, Dunn and Lakeshore, Reynolds and Lakeshore and Allen and Lakeshore.
