If it has been a while since you visited Downtown Oakville or whether you are there all the time, THIS is the perfect time of year to visit the downtown core and see what is new and exciting!

With so many wonderful bakeries, restaurants, cafes and boutiques, Oakville attracts thousands of tourists and residents every year during the Christmas Season. For many people, the season kicks of with the official Tree Lighting Ceremony. This year the fun starts at 5:00pm on November 16th 2012.

Taken from the Downtown Oakville website, "Celebrate the lights, the magic, and the charm of Downtown Oakville this Christmas as the businesses kick-off the holiday season with the official lighting of the Towne Square Tree. Santa’s Ambassadors will be treating everyone to free hot apple cider and hot chocolate. A special part of this evening is a concert by the Salvation Army Band, St. Andrew’s Children’s Choir, and the downtown Oakville Christmas carol sing-along with the Appleby College Choir followed by Holiday Jazz."

Entertainment begins at 5pm and the Christmas carol sing-along at 7:00 p.m. in Towne Square, followed by the official lighting of the Tree at 7:30 p.m.

Start a beautiful new holiday tradition this year by attending the Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Oakville.
