This is Labour Day weekend and that can mean only ONE thing! Ribs!! You still have two days to make sure that you and your family get to Canada's Largest Ribfest! Every year, Spencer Smith Park in Burlington, Ontario, welcomes people from all over the world to sample some of the best ribs from some of North America's top ribbers.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore, Canada’s Largest Ribfest is a community festival that raised more than $330,000 last year and more than $2.6 million in the last 17 years of this event. This weekend, organizers are expecting more than 150,000 people to attend.
Not only is there a spectacular offering of world-class ribs; there is a great musical line up and activities for kids of all ages. Proceeds from this event go to charitable organizations; athletic clubs, food banks, music programs, academic scholarships, after school programs and environmental organizations.
Bringing together 18 award winning teams from across North America, to compete for awards in many categories including, the title of "Best Ribs". You definitely don’t want to miss tasting the fare of Jack on the Bone from Ohio, who is returning to defend its Best Judged Award title for 2012.
