Keeping Busy In The Winter

with one of Milton's many winter activities

Living at the base of the escarpment, just minutes from the lake with access to so many outdoor activities; it's no wonder Milton Real Estate has been on the rise for so many years.

The Escarpment makes for great winter activities such as Downhill Skiing, Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing, Tubing and Snowshoeing.  There are also plenty of organized activities throughout the town including public skates at various ice rinks, both indoors and out.

Drive up the road a few minutes, park your car, slap on your skiis and enjoy a quick ride up the hill to race down one of 12 available trails.  Glen Eden offers fantastic lessons for both the beginner skiier and snowboarder, starting as young as 4 years old!  Opening day is December 27th so don't forget to pick up your season's pass soon.

If you're looking for something slightly more tamed and relaxing, Hilton Falls is the perfect alternative.  Located just North of Glen Eden, on the other side of the 401, off of 5 Side Road; Hilton Falls is open year round and offers a multitude of trails, a serene waterfall and guided tours.

Cross Country Skiing On January 25th there's a guided cross country ski scheduled to start at 6:30PM under the star filled sky on one of the many moonlight paths located in the park.  It will be followed up with a delicious hot chocolate next to the waterfalls.  Visit the Halton Conservation Website for more events or click here to view more details on this event.

If you don't feel like driving 10 minutes, there's plenty to do in town.  The town has many arena's offering public fun and family skate's as well as outdoor rinks.  Weather permitting, you're likely to run into your neighbour gliding around the ice at Mill Pond located on Martin St. just north of Main St.  This has become a favourite activity of Miltonian's for years.

Mill Pond - Milton Follow up skating with a warm beverage at one of the many restaurants and cafe's lining Milton's downtown strip.  Coffee Culture has a location right across from the pond; the inviting atmosphere and long list of options to choose from makes it a common social stop on cold winter evenings.

A schedule of the town's public skating can be found here.
