Saskatoon Real Estate Market Review - Sept 3, 2011

Surprisingly enough last week was the second most productive week in the Saskatoon real estate market in 2011 with 103 sales reported to the local MLS. These numbers are 12 better than the week previous and far superior than the 68 homes which sold during the same period in 2010. New listing activity was fairly active as 104 new listings were posted onto the Saskatoon MLS, which are 12 more than the previous week and 27 fewer than the same period last year. In total there are currently 1212 (827 single family, 361 condomoniums) properties on the market which is much lower than the inventory from 2010 when 1338 listings were active. This summer and continuing on through September we witnessed extremely high sales numbers and lower than average listing activity. The average selling price was just over $308,000 in Saskatoon and the average selling price was $10,771 under asking.
