The Saskatoon real estate market has recently slid which is predictable for this time of year. For a shortened work week one can expect the number of sales to be less than usual as just 53 were reported. Listing activity followed suit as 62 condominiums and single family dwellings were posted on the Saskatoon MLS system for the week (6 less than the previous week). While summer is coming to a close, sellers seem to still have some confidence in the Saskatoon real estate market.
We now have a total of 1356 listings in the Saskatoon market which is 18 more than we saw last week (795 homes and 485 condominiums). To put these numbers in perspective, last year at this time there were 1084 listings on the Saskatoon MLS. Competition in the selling market is high, however selling conditions remain favourable in terms of interest rates and market conditions. At the moment, the lower end of the Saskatoon MLS market is seeing less activity than usual as the average selling price remains well over $325,000 which is $17,000 more than last week.
