Saskatoon Real Estate Market Update - June 14 2011

Two weeks ago we saw the highest level of activity in the Saskatoon market in a single week since 2007 as 120 properties were sold in Saskatoon. Last week we witnessed a dip in sales from the record setting pace as there were 91 firm sales reported to the local MLS, which is still quite impressive. In comparison to the 2010 numbers where we witnessed 71 firm sales it gains some perspective on how active the Saskatoon real estate market actually is at the moment. In terms of new listings in Saskatoon, the numbers dipped 22 units from two weeks ago as 130 were posted on the system, which is 15 more than the same period last year. At the beginning of this week the total listing number hovers around the 1420 mark (826 single family homes, 411 condominiums), which is a gain of 28 properties from two weeks ago and almost on par with the 2010 numbers (828 single family homes and 503 condominiums) for the same week period. The average selling price closed at just over $328,000 which is roughly $8,500 under asking price. For any questions about the Saskatoon market contact us
