Inconsistent is the best way to describe the Saskatoon real estate market over the past short while. After a strong week 2 weeks ago in terms of new listings, there has been a significant drop off over the past few weeks. Last week there were just 98 listings posted on the Saskatoon MLS, which is 15 less than last week and 25 less than last year. There are currently 927 listings in Saskatoon and this number is significantly higher than the mere 751 on the market last year. The median selling price last week was just shy of $300,000 and there were 52 (36 single family, 16 condominium) sales in Saskatoon, which is 11 higher than the week previous. A high amount of activity in the S1 area (Arbor Creek, Briarwood, College Park, Erindale, Forest Grove, Lakeridge, Lakewood, Silverspring, Sutherland, University Heights, College Park, Wildwood and Willowgrove) and lower activity in the central and north areas of the city have driven the weekly average price up within the city.
