Saskatoon Real Estate Market Update November 29, 2010

The Saskatoon real estate market is going through a seasonal downturn at the moment as only 59 sales were reported last week. However for the first time in the last 6 months, the November sales in 2010 have eclipsed that of the numbers for the same period in 2009. The total number of listings declined last week at 63 which is 4 less than the same week in 2009. Currently there are 1099 units on the market on the Saskatoon MLS system (633 single-family dwellings and 408 condominiums), which is higher than last year’s number of 873 units. It is logical to believe that the number of listings will dip under the 1000 mark for the first time in many months. The average selling price for homes last week was $295,000 which was $32,000 higher than the same period for 2009.
