Saskatoon Real Estate Market Update: October 18

Sales in the Saskatoon real estate market took a noticeable dip last week as 50 units were reported sold. Whereas during the week previous there were 61 sales reported and in 2009 there were 59 for the same period. New listings also took a nose dive as only 77 were posted on the Saskatoon MLS which is 19 less than the week previous and 13 ahead of last year for the same period. As fall arrives, the real estate market traditionally slows and we are finally seeing the inventory dwindle. A total of 1246 listings are active on the Saskatoon MLS (750 single family homes and 429 condominiums). Last year there were only 1006 listings during the same period. However the number of active listings has seen a decrease in the last three weeks and should continue that trend into the near future. Due to some activity at the high end of the market, the average price for last week closed at $321,676. For real estate advice or if your thinking about buying or selling give us a call!
