Saskatoon Real Estate Market Update: October 25

After a few grim weeks in the Saskatoon real estate market things are starting to come around as 69 sales were reported last week. This number is impressive because it’s 19 higher than the week previous and 3 more than were sold in 2009 during the same period. As sales were up, the listings followed with 85 new listings on the Saskatoon MLS, which is 8 more than last week and 13 more than 2009. Listings in the Saskatoon market decreased however and we are now hovering around the 1225 mark (739 single family homes, 421 condos). This is significantly higher during the same period in 2009 as only 996 (583 single family homes and 348 condos) listings were on the market at that time. However overall listing numbers have been on a decline as of late and this trend is likely to continue as we move into a seasonally slower period in the market. The average selling price in Saskatoon last week was $44,000 less than the week previous as it closed at just over $278,000.
