Saskatoon Real Estate Week Recap: August 23-27

Once again the Saskatoon real estate market was very active as last week there 79 homes/condominiums sold, which is 11 units more than the previous week. The weekly sales were also higher than last year during the same period when 65 sales were reported on the Saskatoon MLS. Interestingly new listings slid to 90, which is a steep drop-off from the previous week where 141 listings were posted. After the unusual hike in the number of listings in Saskatoon, activity may begin to calm down and return back to normal. However with the unpredictable Saskatoon real estate market as of late, you can’t count on it. At the moment there are a total of 1386 units on the Saskatoon MLS (818 single family homes, and 486 condominiums), whereas last year there were 676 single family and 385 condominiums for a total of 1152. The weekly average price last week was $313,122, while the average sale price was $10,152 below list.
