Saskatoon Real Estate Week in Review: September 7, 2011

Last week real estate sales in Saskatoon were back up well above average, in fact the 103 sales were the second highest single week numbers for the entire year. The 103 sales were 12 better than last week and much higher than the 68 sales which occurred during the same period in 2010. As sales numbers are brisk, the same couldn’t be said for MLS listings which were still respectable at 104 last week. As sales nearly eclipsed the number of listings last week, the number of total listings in Saskatoon declined to 1277 at the start of the week and now sits at 1311 as of Wednesday. Currently there are 880 single family homes and 400 condominiums which is actually the lowest total since spring and much lower than the 1338 total listings in 2010. The average days on market to sell a home sits at around 45 and the average price was just over $308,000. The average selling price under asking was $10,771.
