If there's one thing I'm passionate about, it's connecting with friends and family over a delicious meal or on a new adventure. Luckily, Calgarians have a selection of tremendous restaurants and markets to peruse and the beautiful Rocky Mountains to explore! My family and I often (and by often, I mean: every week) hit up the Calgary Farmers Market for farm-fresh produce and goodies to enjoy; there's so much to choose from, every week is a different adventure.

"It's early. Faint, golden rays of sunlight tickle your love's sleepy lashes and the dog licks your face. It's time to get up. But after a long week of hard work, you're ready to have a relaxing weekend. And a day at the market sounds just right."

If you're more of a mellow, tea kinda guy (or gal), start your day this way.
"As you sip your liquid gold, a wicked growl erupts from deep within your belly; the search for breakfast is imminent. But what will satisfy your hunger? Where will you begin?"
To step into the world of all that is flaky croissanty goodness, sweet & savory scone-a-licious, ooey-gooey cinnamon bun heaven, go here.
Or maybe you're dying of an Ironman-kind of hunger. Then, you'll need a wood-fired bagel from Wayne's.
"Congratulations! You've escaped from zzzzzzombie land and can now enjoy your day. There's plenty to explore at the Calgary Farmers' Market; with over 80 vendors supplying customers with fresh local produce, art, meat, poultry, international food, organic goods, jewelry, and more. You walk amongst the happy crowds, exploring what the people in your community have baked, made, or grew with their own hands. If you've worked up an appetite, there is a vast offering in the food court."
If you want the most juicy, succulent bbq brisket sandwich, Big D's will not dissapoint.
Like it spicy? If you want Mexican, salsa your way over to Los Chilitos.
A little more exotic? Savor the Indian and Thai specialties from Shef's Fiery Kitchen.
"With a full belly, happy heart, and a bag full of soon-to-be-dinner goodies, you have but one more essential stop to make."
No trip is complete without a visit to the Silk Road Spice Merchant.
"You've discovered a great way to expand your culinary horizons, and a fun day exploring what our Albertan farmers have to offer. That was what we call one fine mosey on down to the market. See you next weekend pardner."
