Winning Offense and Championship Defense

'Offense wins games. Defense wins championships.' I first heard that while working at a basketball camp in Alaska in 2001. I've heard it many times since and it always proves true.

In yesterday's Super Bowl the historically good Denver offense was completely stifled by the Seahawks thoroughly well prepared and relentless defense.

When selling your home, just like in football: offense wins games, exceptional marketing gets people in the door; but defence wins championships, a skilled negotiator gets you the price and terms you want.

My home marketing strategy is Real Estate Super Bowl quality. We deliver content to everybody, tailored in a convenient way. From tried and true methods like putting a sign in your yard and open houses to creating a custom website for your home (ex. 123 Sesame Street).

We hire a professional photographer to take and display 21 hi-resolution photos of your home on the website; plus aerial and street maps, directions, information about local amenities, and more information to help you make an informed choice than MLS.ca or any other website. And far easier to use than realtor.ca. Then we purchase Google Ad Words to drive even more traffic.

My goal it that your home will be seen first, seen more, and remembered. I deliver on that every time. That's my offense.

But to truly win you need a great defense when the offers start rolling in. A Peyton Manning caliber offense means very little if you can't sell at the highest possible price, with few conditions to meet, and a possession date that suites your needs.

I'm your defensive coordinator. I'm your Richard Sherman. I know when to blitz or when to sit back with double safeties. When to jump the route and when to go for the big hit. When to press for more money. When to cut our loses. When to move up condition dates and when to agree to an extension. How to interpret a home inspection and qualify a buyer. How to set the tone and bracket our position. Let's start the game by scoring a safety, not giving up a touchdown.

Negotiating the best terms is a dance. It's about being one step ahead and not being picked apart; being prepared and having a strategy. It's about loving to win. And I love winning. Especially championships.
