Health Effects of Wind Turbines to be Studied
Health Canada will be conducting a study responding to questions about the health effects of low frequency noise for people living near wind farms.
According to a Health Canada press release, the study is planned to focus on “an initially targeted sample size of 2,000 dwellings selected from 8-12 wind turbine installation facilities in Canada.”
They plan to:
- Take blood pressure from participants among other measurements,
- Conduct interviews and
- Measure noise levels both inside and outside of the homes.
Results of the study are expected to be published in 2014.
