Personal Background
I am a lifetime resident of Winnipeg having grown up in the St.Vital area. I attended Windsor School, Glenlawn Collegiate and the University of Winnipeg both in the collegiate division and the University. I have lived my adult life in River Heights and am the father of three daughters.
Professional Interests
I am active in the community through coaching and convening community programs. I coached my own daughter for several years in the early stages of her hockey career.
I am very involved with Winnipeg's Adopt a Park Program which is an initiative to utilize city park assets that the City no longer has the budget to maintain. We search for other ways for recreational spaces to sustain their use in the current framework of city budgets. Specifically, our neighbourhood group of which I am the lead, has taken over operating the William Osler Park skating rink in the winter.
I have been Chair and Committee volunteer for several Ducks Unlimited committees. Ducks Unlimited is a well known conservation organisation which is very active in the maintenance and restoration of habitat for many wildlife species.
Wildlife and the outdoors is a particular passion of mine.

Personal Interests
I'm personally involved in my immediate neighbourhood of River Heights in an effort to keep our local skating rink, the William Osler Park skating rink, open and active. I head a group of neighbours in running this rink and maintaining it through the winter months. This is a facility that would otherwise be closed by the city.
My personal interests range from athletics like windsurfing, alpine skiing, hockey and fitness. I love the great outdoors, am an avid gardener and like to travel.
