If you have an unslightly view from outside one of your windows, (train tracks, solid brick wall) try putting a vinyl frosted window coating on the bottom of the window, leaving the top half of the window clear. This way the view is covered up and you still will have the natural light coming through.

Or try putting curtains on the lower half of the window only exposing the top half.
