first quarter sales for 2008

The first 3 months of 2008 has seen steady sales throughout the city despite some cold and snowy weather.  The amount of sales overall were down from last year but still very strong.

The average time to sell in todays market is averaging 30 days,  and as usual, a reasonably priced home will see all the activity.  Meanwhile the prices are holding steady as there is a very good supply of homes in all price ranges.  Demand is still there,  but it is important to be competively priced.   Buyers have more choice.

The cost of new homes have increased due to the cost of new land and increased labour costs,  this makes the resale home market  looking more  attractive compared to a new home since the new homes do not have all the added extras such as fences, landscaping and decks that a resale home typically has.   I will be happy to discuss your real estate needs.   With over 31 years experience,  I have seen the best and the worst of this real estate market.
