Being the lead singer of our band Desert Heat for the past 25 years, I have had the opportunity and have been lucky enough to work with many of todays biggest stars in the music business in both Canada and the United States. People like Taylor Swift, Jason Alden, Travis Tritt, Emerson Drive, The Road Hammers, just to name a few. But my band and I have always been amazed at how much talent is out there that has not yet been discovered by a large record label, and yet who are probably more talented then a lot of those who have been.
Sometimes it's the musiciens on the indie scene that seem the most talented.
One of our best friends in the music business is from Knowlton, Quebec. Mannix St-Amant is a super talented guitar player. Probably one of the best guitar players we have ever met. We've known Mannix close to 30 years, and he still loves music as much today as when we met him way back then. He plays guitar, he sings, he teaches, he loves music.
He plays locally often around Knowlton, Sutton, Waterloo and the Townships. If you get the chance to see this guy, you will be blown away.
Mannix will be playing with his band The Dirty Blues Band tonight (Friday June 27) in Waterloo, Quebec at Bar L'axandra 5381 rue Foster in Waterloo, Que. Show starts at 9;30pm. I know we will be there :)
Mannix will also be playing Canada Day in Knowlton on Sunday June 29th from 12:30-2:30, and 6:30-8:30pm. The show will be held in Lion's park in Knowlton, Quebec. Come on out, it will be a great time.
