Lightfoot Trail

The Lightfoot Trail is a dual trail that incorporates the paved Millennium Trail and a gravel trail that abuts the paved trail and accommodates snowmobiles in the winter. The Lightfoot Trail stretches along the northeast end of the city, connecting the Uthoff Trail to the Atherley Narrows, with a portion that links the west end of the city to the trail system.

The Lightfoot Trail system connects to the Uthoff Trail in the north, the Oro-Medonte Rail Trail in the south-west and the Ramara Trail in the east.

West Ridge Park

West Ridge Park is a wooded paradise escape. Located at 900 West Ridge Blvd, this park provides a natural trail through a wooded area that leads directly to Clayt French Park

  • Grade: Incline

Scout Valley

Scout Valley is a naturalized 230-acre park that consists of three individual loop trails. This park can be accessed from Line 15 North, Old Barrie Road or Forest Home. The Line 15 parking entrance is also home to Regan House.

  • Length: 6 kilometres
  • Surface: Natural
  • Grade: Incline

Scout Valley trails are marked with blazes that match the colour of the individual trail.

  • Sugarbush Trail: orange blazes
  • Algonquin Trail: green blazes
  • Homestead Trail: blue blazes

Blazes are rectangles of paint on trees, fence posts, and rocks that help you follow the trail.

  • A single blaze indicates the path is straight ahead
  • A double blaze indicates a change in direction. The higher mark indicates the direction the path takes

If you lose the trail, return to where you saw the last blaze. You should be able to see the next blaze from there.



Tudhope Park Loop

The Tudhope Loop is located in J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park on Atherley Road. The trail gently loops around the perimeter of the 65-acre park along the water's edge. This loop also features a number of historical plaques to read.

Homewood Park Loop

The Homewood Park Loop is located in Homewood Park at 65 Woodside Drive. The loop traverses the entire park and is visible from all parts of the park, making it an ideal place to take the kids for a leisurely stroll.

  • Grade: Flat with some incline

Clayt French Park Loop

This loop, located in Clayt French Park at 114 Atlantis Drive, circles around an open field and is easily accessible from the parking lot.
