It is so important to be open and honest with your REALTOR® when preparing to list your property. What are the improvements you have completed in your home? What are your favorite features inside? Outside? Why?
This information is not only invaluable for showing potential buyers, but also for your REALTOR® when showing you new properties to purchase! Think how much easier it would be for them to show you something you already enjoy, or wish you had in a home rather than grasping at straws and viewing something that doesn't work for your family configuration.
Another tip from experienced REALTORS® is to be clear on your budget when searching for that new home.
When you are viewing properties, make sure you are within your budget to alleviate any heart ache later. For example, if you have a budget of $350,000 looking at homes in the $400,000 range is not only impractical, but unfair to you and your REALTOR®. Why fall in love with something only to have it taken away when the financing isn't in place.
Don't be afraid to ask your REALTOR® for advice; after all, they are the professionals you expect them to be, and have your best interests at heart.
