Housing market likely to grow

Saskatoon's resale housing market is expected to see a seven per cent growth in price during the next year, a new report indicated Friday.

The Conference Board of Canada's metro resale index has also classified the region's resale market as balanced.

The report notes the average selling price for resale homes was $279,440 in January. That figure compares to $298,157 in December 2009 and $287,829 in January 2009.

Regina, meanwhile, can expect a five per cent increase in the price of its resale homes during the next year, according to the index.

The provincial capital noted an average resale price of $258,795 in January.
