Sales continue to be a challenge in the Peterborough housing market, but were not seeing the same effects as our neighbours to the south.

In November the average list price was $200,225, which is down from last years record year of $214,910.  A drop of 6.8%

The average sale price was $191,853, which is also down from last year's record year of $207,895. A drop of 7.7%

The average sale to list is 96% for the month.

The average list duration increased by 24 days to 65 days on the market as compared to 41 days last November.

The number of sales in November was 48, down 13 units from 2007. This is a 21.3% decrease from last year.

Looking at our year to date numbers our average list price is up $8,005 or 3.6% compared to 2007

Our average sale price is $220,872.  Up $7,282 or 3.4% from 2007

Sale to list price remains at 97% year to date.

Our homes are on the market on average for 50 days, this is up 6 days from last year.

The final but most important number is the amount of sales.  Currently we have had 1112 sales which is only down 49 units or -4.2%.  I cannot stress enough how 2007 was a record year for us in Canada.  So being only down 49 units for single family homes in the City of Peterborough is a strong indication on how strong our market really is.
