I was just looking at an email from the "Home Depot" that talked about curb appeal. The article was about enhancing curb appeal and ways to enhance it. It talked about adding a new mailox, new planters, new door accessories and adding outdoor lighting and new pavers and step stones and finally painting the exterior. These are the things that help bring a buyer into a home. Once you get them in the home though you have to be able to keep them there.
Recently I have shown a few houses where the smell of cats and there litter boxes were so over-powering that Buyers left the homes immediately.
The inside of your home is just as important as the outside. While we all love our Pets we have to understand how they can adversely effect the sale of your home. Does "Fido" leave hair everywhere? Does "Kitty" have a powerful odour that runs throughout the house? These are things homeowners do not often realize themselves as they live with there beloved pets. However Buyers pick up on these things immediately and they can cost you the sale of your home.
When your home is For Sale you need to be extra careful with your pets and make sure you are always on top of the smells, pet hair etc that our pets leave behind. Selling isn't easy and making the right first impression is always so important as they say you never get a second chance to make a first impression so please don't let Fido or Kitty hinder that first impression! I don't want to see anyone else lose potential buyer(s) for their homes because of the pets we love.
