Valentia is a hamlet located in the former Township of Mariposa, City of Kawartha Lakes. Settlement of this area began in the early 1800's and by the 1850's Valentia was a thriving community with a post office, general store, and school. Valentia now is a quite rural community within 1 hour commute to the GTA. Local attractions include the general store still in the orginal location and now offering Christina's Slice and Grill, United Church and Valentia Community Centre. You will also find a wonderful playground for the kids and a great ball park were a many of games have been played.
