Battery Curbside Collection in Barrie - ONE time only

The City of Barrie is offering a used battery collection at your curbside for the weeks of November 2-6, 2015.

A special recycling bag will be delivered to you via mail this October.  Please follow the specific instructions provided with your kit.

This initiative is not new to Simcoe County, but it is the first time in Barrie.  The goal of the program is to encourage Barrie residents to "think green" by not discarding used batteries in their

garbage bags.  Batteries must be disposed of properly to avoid a negative impact on our environment.

This collection includes alkaline and heavy duty batteries such as AAA, AA, A, C, D, 9 Volt, and button type batteries.

DO NOT dispose rechargeable batteries, cell phone and lap top batteries, car, industrial and battery packs.  These types may be taken to any County of Simcoe or City of Barrie household hazardous waste facility for safe and free disposal.  See electronics recycling.

Again, this is a one time collection between November 2-6th, 2015 only.

Should you not receive the battery recycling bags in your mail box you can also pick them up at County of Simcoe and City of Barrie Waste Management Facilities or local municipal/city offices.
