Eco-Friendly Ways to Keep the Bugs Away Barrie

Your home is your haven, but is it being taken over by ants, spiders, mosquitoes and more?  Spraying chemicals in your home is harmful, so here are some eco-friendly, non-toxic ways to deter those pesty bugs from moving in!

1. Ants

Do not like cinnamon.  Sprinkle cinnamon at your doorways so that the ants do not crawl in.  You can sprinkle this anywhere you have an abundance of ants.  It will not harm the insect, just make them go away.

2. Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes hate the smell of lavender.  You can make a mosquito spray using lavender essential oil and water.  Safe to spray on patio furniture, skin and pets.  Burn lavender oil outdoors to cover a larger area.

3. Spiders

Detest peppermint oil.  Make a spray consisting of water and peppermint essential oil.  Safe to spray indoors and out.  Apply around areas that build up with webs.

Remember to re-apply these essential oils weekly.  You can also burn the oils outdoors to keep the bugs away while you lounge by the pool.
