Signal Hill is nestled in the southwest quadrant and notably one of Calgary’s more prestigious communities. As of 2011, residents of Signal Hill numbered just shy of ~14,000, one third of which are over the age of 45 (City of Calgary, 2013).  Homes in Signal Hill are overwhelmingly single detached however, a small subset of semi-detached, row and apartment-style homes are also available for rent or purchase (ibid).

Those looking to establish a home in the Signal Hill area will love the offering of both public and Catholic schools that are within or close to the bounds of the community. These schools include, but may not be limited to:

If you’re concerned about the proximity of shopping or prominent landmarks, don’t fret! Signal Hill is a hop and skip away from everything that Calgary has to offer!  The Chinook Mall, downtown Calgary, Market Mall, Royal Mountain College, SAIT,  the University of Calgary, Southcentre Mall and most of the city’s hospitals are all ~ 10 km from Signal Hill!  The popular and highly commercialized 17th Ave also borders Signal Hill to the north and offers residents front row seats to Calgary’s premier shopping, restaurants and nightlife!

Signal Hill also borders the Elbow River to the south and offers a great opportunity for a run, scenic walk or picnic with the family. If that’s too far, Signal Hill Park and Battallion Park are both within the community bounds! If that isn’t enough -Pinebrook Golf and Country Club can be found a short drive away and offers a course that often challenges the city’s finest golfers!

If you commute, or rely on public transit, you’ll love the proximity of Signal Hill to Calgary transit!
