The Christmas season is in full swing with the City of Red Deer kickoff planned for November 16, 2013. Festival Lights the Night begins at 4:00 Pm with childrens events, coffee, hot chocolate and entertainment followed by the lighting of City Hall Park and the biggest Christmas tree at 5:15. The Santa Clause parade is scheduled for 5:30.
Friday November 22, 2013 marks the public opening of the 20'th annual Festival of Trees, this year funds raised will go to enhancing the urology, diagnostic imaging and operating rooms at Red Deer Regional Hospital. To date the Festival of Trees has raised $9,515,513. Get in the spirit with activities and events for all ages plus an opportunity to view the numerous beautifully decorated holiday trees donated by local businesses. The Festival offers Something for Everyone!
The City of Red Deer and the Kerrywood Nature Centre want to help you cut down on your outdoor lighting bill for the 5'th season in a row. Bring in two strands of incandescent holiday lights and receive one new strand of LED lights in exchange. There is a limit of one new strand per adult per house.
