Cross country skiing at Kawartha Nordic Ski Club

Unlike many Canadians I like snow. Not so much for driving through it but more for the fun you can have with it, cross country skiing for example. My family and I started doing this during our first Canadian winter, back in 2007. I am not very good at it and I fall a lot but I love it. We joined the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club. After the recent snowfall the trails are open again and I can't wait to go out there. The club is located near Haultain on Highway 28  between Burleigh Falls and Apsley. They maintain a good set of groomed trails on a gorgeous piece of property and there are cabins with woodstoves where you can warm yourself up. They organize events and have training programs both for youngsters and adults. The volunteers at the club really do a wonderful job. If you would like to know more about the club please click here. Hope to see you on the trails some time !
