Simons subdivision remains without municipal water and sewer

Ever since the small Simons subdivision was annexed by the City from Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield Township back in 2008 its residents have been pleading for extension of municipal water and sewer lines to their houses. Most residents use wells and septic systems. There is a growing concern about pollution of their water source because of the urban development surrounding their neigbourhood. But City Council rejected an offer from the developer of the new 50 unit subdivision to extend the sewer lines to the neighbourhood. Click here for the recent article in the Peterborough Examiner.
