THE COSSIT HOUSE MUSEUM
The Cossit House in Sydney is the oldest house in Sydney
and almost the same as what it did when it was built in 1787. Reverend Ranna Cossit, built the home on Charlotte St. in 1787. Reverend Ranna Cossit was a Loyalist and one of the founding settlers of Sydney, he was the first Protestant minister assigned to Cape Breton and played an important role in the political and social development of Cape Breton island.
